It really seems that you are not just the best for your dog. It's easy for people to take things and rude to add on this issue without a million things about their lives so that they "understand". I think we should respond effectively to the benefit of the doubt to him and to your question as best they can, without having to feel bad for him. I have to 8 hours per day, 3 days per week with 2 dogs and I let them in kindergarten on the way to work and gain on the way home.
